SERVICES.
I believe people are the experts of their own life, however, they may not always feel that way given their current circumstances, tools, or past experiences. As a social worker, I value the deep understanding that everyone deserves autonomy, respect, and compassion. With this, I aim to support individuals in uncovering their innate abilities to cope and feel more confident as a self-expert.

How do I know if therapy is the right for me?People often attend therapy when struggling with emotional and behavioural difficulties and mental health concerns/ symptoms. Or when faced with stress, life challenges or relationship difficulties.
-
What can I expect from therapy?During our first appointment, we review consent, confidentiality and other logistics. We also discuss your goals for therapy or the challenges you are currently facing, and we start to develop a treatment pla based on your needs and goals. This treatment plan is flexible and is adapted as needed. As we progress in our sessions, we work towards your goals which could include developing new skills and tools to help you cope, developing new insights and awarenesses to help you make better decisions, or processing the past to help you heal and move forward. Therapy is not a quick fix. Therpay is about equipping you with life-long tools and skills. With that in mind, therapy usually requires multiple visits and it can take time before noticeable changes are observed. It is also important to note that we may come in and out of therapy throughout our lives depending on the challenges we are facing or the goals we would like to achieve.
-
How many sessions should I attend and at what frequency?Initially, it's best to commit to weekly/bi-weekly sessions and attend a minimum of 8-10 sessions which allows us to set goals, build momentum and make progress. We revisit discussions of frequency and duration of therapy throughout our work together to reflect on progress and achievements. We may attend therapy for some time and then take a break to implement the tools and skills learned, returning if our goals change or new stressors arise. You may book check-in appointments with me to stay accountable and maintain goals or re-engage in therapy if new symptoms, problems, challenges or goals arise.
