Below are answers to some common questions and what you can expect when working with me.

  • What Can I Expect in Therapy?
    Therapy is a collaborative journey. In our sessions, you can expect: A safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore your thoughts, emotions & behaviours in a way that feels safe for you. Practical tools and strategies to manage anxiety, reduce stress, regulate emotions and address underlying patterns such as perfectionism and people-pleasing. Explore past experience so that you can better understand yourself Tailored approaches based on your unique needs and personality. Whether you're looking for short-term support or ongoing guidance, we’ll work together to help you thrive.
  • What Are Your Rates & How do I Make Payments
    Session Rate: $170 per 50-minute session. DBT Group Therapy: $65 per 120-minute session for the duration of 8 weeks Thriving Beyond Anxiety Group Program: please contact for more information Sliding Scale: Limited slots available. Please inquire during the intro call for more details. Payment Methods: Payments are due at the end of each session. I accept credit/debit cards, digital payment options (such as PayPal, Zelle, etc.) and credit card payments. Most payments are received through the Jane APP.
  • Do You Take Insurance or Offer Direct Billing?
    I am currently do provide direct billing at this time. However, I can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It’s recommended that you check with your provider regarding their mental health coverage and to ensure that they cover social work services.
  • What Are Some Common Concerns People Have?
    I’m not sure if therapy is right for me." Therapy can benefit anyone, whether you’re facing a specific challenge or just feeling overwhelmed with life. Our intro call will help clarify if therapy can help you at this stage of your journey. "I’ve tried therapy before, and it didn’t work." Not all therapy experiences are the same. I utilize evidence-based methods and tailor our sessions to address your unique challenges. It’s about finding the right fit between therapist and client, and I strive to ensure our work together meets your needs. "How long will it take for me to feel better?" Everyone’s journey is different. While some clients notice improvements after a few sessions, others may need more time to work through deeper issues. We’ll set realistic goals together and regularly assess your progress.
  • What Can I Expect in the Intro Call?
    Our first interaction is a complimentary 15-minute intro call. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to understand more about your current challenges and goals. I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions you might have. This call will help us decide if we’re the right fit.   • Do You Offer Virtual Sessions?
    Yes! I offer teletherapy sessions via a secure online platform, so you can receive support from the comfort of your own home. Virtual sessions are offered to any resident of Ontario. You can also access in-person services in Waterloo, ON.
  • How Often Is Therapy and For How Long?
    Frequency: Most clients start with weekly to bi-weekly sessions to establish momentum, but the frequency may decrease over time depending on your progress and needs. Duration: The duration of therapy varies for everyone. Some people achieve their goals in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in to ensure your needs are being met. For example some clients who are more interested in counselling and learning tools may find that they achieve their goals in 8-12 sessions while those who are interested in psychotherapy and exploring their past experiences may find they they access 20-30 sessions.   • Where Are You Licensed and Can We Work Together?
    I am a registered social worker in Ontario, Canada and can work with clients residing within this province. Please verify your province of residence before scheduling an appointment.
